Congratulations to Dana and Rachel Clendenin, our October 2023 Volunteers of the Month! Dana and Rachel received multiple nominations from their peers here at St Susanna. We are excited to feature them here and thank them for their longstanding service to both St Susanna School and St Susanna Parish with a special parking spot for the month of October.

Family & Pets: We have 2 daughters Kate who's in 9th grade and an alumnae of St Sue and Anna currently in 7th grade. We have one dog who's name is Gizmo (yes like the Gremlin).
Where do you volunteer at St Susanna? Serving others is a huge part of our lives and how we try and give back to not only the school, but our parish as well. Currently, Dana is the President of the Boosters and I’m the concession coordinator. We’ve also each helped coach our girls in different sports throughout our time here. I have helped organize and run the Barnes and Noble bookfair since Kate was in 1st grade. We are also involved in the Marriage Mentoring program, helping engaged couples prepare for their wedding. We mass coordinate at 7:30am mass, as well as lector and are eucharistic ministers. The girls even sing in the choir on Sundays. We are both actively involved in other ministries as the Festival, Fish Fry, Turkey Fry and even Spirit with the Saints. While some may call us crazy, we love being involved and helping our school and parish in any way possible.
Why do you love St Susanna? We love the teachers, staff, families and friends we have gained. This community pulls together so well in times of crisis, wether it be a loss of a parent of a student or of a fellow classmate. The sense of community is like nothing we experienced both coming from public school backgrounds. St Sue has become an extension of our own family.
